Instalação de Flávia Fernandes na Jack London Square, Oakland, Califórnia por ocasião da Bayennale Art Festival, inaugurada em 23 Julho de 2005. O trabalho ficou instalado até o dia 7 de agosto de 2005.
O que me moveu a fazer esse trabalho foi a idéia de um pedaço de mar dentro do container. Ao invés da água escolhi utilizar um colchão de água com a cor do mar, que na sua manipulação criaria ondas e reflexos, criando, além dessa ilusão, um lugar macio no espaço urbano onde as pessoas podem descansar ou brincar.

Installation of Flávia Fernandes in the Jack London Square, Oakland, California for the occasion of the Bayennale Art Festival, inaugurated on 23 July of 2005.
What moved me to make this work was the idea of a piece of the sea inside of the container. Instead of water, I chose to use a water mattress with the color of the sea, that in its manipulation would create waves and consequences, creating beyond this illusion, a soft place in the urban space where the people can rest or play.
